HIGGINBOTTOM COASTS TO 2012 RIVERSDALE CUP VICTORY<\/span><\/p>\n

The Australian Golf Club?s Jake Higginbottom has coasted to victory in the 2012 Riversdale Cup with a 19-under four round total of 269.<\/span><\/p>\n

A large gallery followed the 18-year-old Higginbottom who led the field throughout the tournament and finished seven shots clear of Daniel McGraw, from Queensland?s Gailles Golf Club, with Cameron Smith, from Queensland Golf Club, two shots further back in third place.<\/span><\/p>\n

Higginbottom, with all four rounds under 70, set the stage for his impressive win with an opening round of 64, a score equaled in yesterday?s final round by McGraw.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Riversdale Cup, which has been running for 117 years, is one of the two major Australian tournaments for amateurs.<\/span><\/p>\n

2012 Australian Women’s Foursomes<\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

National Squad members Jaimee Dougan and Ashley Ona teamed up to win the Australian Women?s Foursomes Championship at Riversdale Golf Club in Melbourne.<\/p>\n

In fine weather, the Queensland pair led with a 2-under par 71 in the morning round and shot an afternoon 1-over par 74 to finish at 1-under and win by one stroke from Tatiana Wijaya (WA) and Alyssa Keir (WA) in second place at even par.<\/p>\n

Australian Amateur medallist Breanna Elliott (Vic) and Grace Lennon (Vic) finished two shots behind in third place at 2-over par.<\/p>\n

South Australian pair Jenny Lee and Caitlin Roberts finished two shots further back at 4-over par in fourth.<\/p>\n

Ali Orchard (Qld) and Jo Charlton (Vic) finished in fifth place at 6-over par.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday players will compete in the first round of the Women?s Riversdale Cup.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n
