Riversdale Cadets

The Riversdale Cadet Program aims to accommodate the development of juniors under the age of 14 years who have an identified talent and or aptitude for the game of golf, and be potential members of the Riversdale Golf Club.

Who is Eligible?  

• Juniors both male and female of the age of 11 to 13 years (under 12 years considered subject to golfing ability and maturity ·
• Played in Junior On Course session at Riversdale golf course at least 3 times.  This session is used as course introduction and it must be accompanied by parent or guardian. 
• Does not hold an active membership at any other golf club in Melbourne 

 Playing Rights

• The Cadets shall have unrestricted access to all practice facilities:-
• The practice fairway (except for Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday 7.30 am—9.am and 11 am to 1.15 pm)
•  The practice nets
•  The practice bunkers and chipping area
•  The practice putting green
•  Unlimited use of range balls for Own Use
•  Access to Squad Coaching Session  (8 per year selected from 12 optional dates)
•  On course etiquette and rules introduction

Upon obtaining their playing licence the Cadet shall have the right to play on the course, subject to course availability on:-

• Each weekday and Saturday after 4 pm
• Sundays after 12 noon subject to course
• During the school holidays extra times can be  accessed

 Cadets Are Required To:-

• Report to the Proshop prior to any play or practice
• Observe the dress standards for members as detailed on the website
• Be aware of and act in a manner outlined in Section 1 Etiquette of the Rules of Golf (www.randa.org)
• Be supervised by a parent or guardian who will be responsible for their safety.
• Be accompanied by a Member to enter the Clubs bar, Dinning Room or Lounge

At the discretion of the Club cadets may be offered the opportunity to join the club as Junior members upon reaching 14 years of age.

Riversdale Cadets will be provided with an official handicap.

$185 for 6 months
October 1 to March 31 or
April 1—September 30

 The Riversdale Cadet Scheme is designed to encourage an interest in golf by providing access to quality facilities at minimal cost.  It is not intended to provide regular coaching.  However, in the addition to the Saturday Group Training Sessions, private lessons will be available with the Riversdale Golf Professionals for $30 per half hour.
