Dear Member,

Returning to golf at Riversdale Golf Club effective 26 October.

Riversdale Golf Club has prepared the following guidelines for members given there has been no further lifting of Lockdown restrictions on recreational activities by the Premier today.

It was our expectation to begin play in fours from Monday, however the current restrictions limit golf to groups of two only.  As a result, we have taken into account our large active membership and the demand experienced last week, and have decided that there will be a maximum of 2 rounds of 18 holes, 4 rounds of 9 holes, or 1 round of 18 holes and 2 rounds of 9 holes per week from Monday to Sunday.

The following guidelines are necessary to achieve effective social distancing to reduce the risk of spreading CoVID-19. These measures are designed to avoid congregation in the following areas: Pro Shop, toilet areas, starting tees, and anywhere on the golf course.

Access to booking sheets will be according to your membership category.

Timesheet opening times:

Mon, 26 Oct – opens on Sun, 25 Oct at 6:00pm;

Tues, 27 Oct – opens on Sun, 25 Oct at 7:00pm;

Wed, 28 Oct – opens on Mon, 26 Oct at 8:00pm

Thurs, 29 Oct – opens on Mon, 26 Oct at 8.30pm

Fri, 30 Oct – opens on Tues, 27 Oct at 8pm

Sat, 31 Oct – opens on Tues, 27 Oct at 8.30pm

Sun, 1 Nov opens on Wed, 28 Oct at 8pm

From thereon timesheets will open 4 days in advance at 8pm.  Note that this will change in accordance with any amendments issued by the government.

Guidelines:

The guidelines are designed to allow as many golfers as possible to access the course each day in accordance with DHHS rulings.

Members will be restricted to a maximum of 36 holes per week to enable as many members as possible to access the course. The week is from Monday to Sunday.

  • Attendance at the Club is permitted for members who have pre-booked a starting time ONLY.
  • 9-hole golf bookings will be available from 7.00am to 8:42am daily from 1st tee
  • 18-hole golf bookings will be available from 7.30am daily from 10th tee
  • Players will tee off at 6-minute intervals.
  • Toilet facilities in the locker room and on the course will be open.   Locker room facilities will not be accessible.
  • Masks must be worn at all times.
  • Attendance at the Club is limited to those who live within 25 kilometres of the Club – in accordance with DHHS guidelines.
  • Play will be in groups of 2 with members permitted to book for themselves and one other member with their prior approval.
  • Gates will be closed for entry at 6:30 pm
  • There is no equipment for hire or sharing.
  • There will be no golf carts until further notice.
  • Use of Practice Facilities will be confirmed when DHHS guidelines are provided.
  • Players are to remain in (or next to) their cars until close to their starting time – eg: 10 minutes prior. There is to be no congregating in the car park or anywhere else on the property.
  • Flags are not to be removed from cups.
  • Bunker rakes have been removed and members are required to level off bunkers with their feet or club. Preferred lies are permitted in bunkers within a club length.
  • Members are to supply their own pull buggies
  • Players are to leave the facility immediately after completing their round.
  • Each player to use the same sand bucket and take it with them after golf.
  • All games are to be Stableford. Cards can be submitted for handicapping, which will occur after a second card is submitted if playing 9 holes. It is preferred that players use the Mi-Score App.
  • No Board or Major events will be held until further notice.
  • No guests are permitted to play.

Members are reminded that they should not enter the Club grounds if they are feeling unwell.

Our staff do not have discretion to vary any of the guidelines set out in this communication, and we expect that members will not place them in an uncomfortable position by asking them to ‘bend the rules’.

Members who do not adhere to the required guidelines will have their timesheet privileges removed.

Please note that there are likely to be changes as new directions from government are issued.  We do apologise for the inconvenience, and will keep you informed of further developments.

While we understand that there are many restrictions to adhere to, we do this in the best interest of everyone to achieve social distancing at all times to keep everyone safe. As always, we are grateful for the support of all the Members during these trying times.
