UPDATE: Return to golf at Riversdale.

Yesterday was a challenging day for all in the industry to say the least following the decision to re-open golf today. Thank you to all Board members, the golf shop team and staff for preparations at short notice so that Members could return today.

At time of writing, 302 Members were booked to play nine holes of golf today!  This level of demand for bookings far exceeds anything that we have ever experienced before.  The restriction allowing only groups of two golfers has reduced our bookings capacity significantly, and we therefore made the decision to allow only 9 hole bookings so that many Members would not miss out altogether – something we wanted to avoid as part of the “return to golf”.

We appreciate that most Members would much prefer to play 18 holes as soon as possible.  For the moment, our primary focus is to make sure that all Riversdale Members have a chance to play golf under the restrictions imposed.
 

 

UPDATED Timesheet opening times:

Following feedback from some Members who experienced delays using the lottery system last night, we have decided to slightly extend timesheet opening times.  Our provider MiClub have reported that they have fixed the problem, however we have decided to make expand the opening times as a precautionary measure.

Please see amended times below (changes underlined):

Tues, 20 Oct – opens on Mon, 19 Oct at 8pm (no change)

Wed, 21 Oct – opens on Mon, 19 Oct at 8.15pm (no change)

Thurs, 22 Oct – now opens on Tues, 20 Oct at 8pm (previously 19 Oct)

Fri, 23 Oct – now opens on Tues, 20 Oct at 8.30pm (previously 8pm) 

Sat, 24 Oct – now opens on Wed, 21 Oct at 8pm (previously 20 Oct)

Sun, 25 Oct – now opens on Wed, 21 Oct at 8.30pm (previously 8pm)

Note that this will change if required or in response to amendments issued by the government.
 

 

In addition to the guidelines emailed to you yesterday, Golf Australia have advised that practice facilities will need to remain closed at this point in time.  

We are pleased to advise that from 1 November, Golf Australia anticipate that “golf can be played in groups of four, regardless of whether they are from the same household or not”. 

For now, it has been great to see so many Members back enjoying golf at the Club today.
