Riversdale Golf Club members and guests were treated to an exceptional insight to the complicated and often perilous life of an international aid worker. Bob Handby AO has devoted his life to improve the lives of those left in the wake of humanitarian disasters. On Monday evening Bob shared some of his experiences over his 30 year journey as a volunteer for Red Cross. This work took him to parts of Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific as well as Australia to assist in managing humanitarian disasters. As Bob recalled sometimes harrowing yet inspiring anecdotes, the audience was transfixed until the close of the evening.

Learn about the experiences and actions of an International Aid Worker, Bob Handby in man-made and natural disaster areas around the world including Conflict zones, Tsunamis, Cyclones, Floods, Bush fires and Infectious diseases. This work took him to parts of Africa, Europe, Asia and the Pacific as well as Australia to assist in managing humanitarian disasters. He was involved in a project to clean-up and restore a dysfunctional hospital and establish an Ebola Infection Treatment Centre in Sierra Leone.  Also, Bob is the Author of “You Will Go Won’t You”, which documents his years as an Aid Worker.  Gain insight into the use of Aid programs.
