Members whom attended the Dinner and Talk evening on Monday, 14th April were treated to a
presentation by the renowned urologist Mr Yee Chan. Mr Chan specialises in urology and other areas of general urology including the treatment of
benign enlargement of the prostate and urinary stones. Mr Chan has a special interest in minimal invasive surgery, including robotic systems and key-hole surgery.
Mr Chan is one of the leading practitioners in this advanced technology. How to recognise the signs of an enlarged prostate and the various treatments of each stage was explained, including the use of robots and key-hole surgery. A few recommendations were made as to how to avoid some of the worst symptoms of an enlarged prostate. Kidney stones were also addressed and ways that this painful condition is treated.
